- IPL is very effective in treating various types of pigmentation disorders such as blemishes, freckles and age spots. After an IPL treatment, you are allowed to wear makeup or wash face the same day, since this causes less scabbing than Q-switched laser for pigmentation.

- IPL hits a compound called porphyrins generated by the acne bacteria. When porphyrins absorb the light at wavelengths around 400nm, they produce free radicals that destroy acne bacteria. IPL is also effective in treating acne scars.
